Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Philippine Journal of Development (PJD) recognizes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in scholarly publishing and allows their limited use for supportive purposes only, such as language editing, grammar checking, formatting, and clarity improvement.

  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.
  • AI tools must not be used to generate original research content, data, analysis, interpretations, or conclusions, nor to fabricate or manipulate references, data, or findings.
  • Any AI use beyond basic spelling and grammar checks must be transparently disclosed at submission, including the name of the tool, its purpose, and the sections of the manuscript where it was applied.
  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Reviewers and editors must also protect the confidentiality of manuscripts and must not upload unpublished or sensitive materials to public AI systems.
  • Noncompliance with this policy may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other appropriate sanctions in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics guidelines.

 

The Philippine Journal of Development (PJD) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published biannually by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS). It serves as a platform for disseminating policy-oriented research on development issues, including the economy, business, public administration, foreign relations, sociology, and political dynamics. The PJD is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
