Dr. Roehlano M. Briones is a senior research fellow at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), where he specializes in agricultural policy and conducts policy-oriented research for the Philippine government. His work spans key areas such as agriculture and natural resources economics, rural development, food security, international trade, and macroeconomic policy. He has authored numerous research papers and co-edited several books, including an edited volume on irrigation policy that received the National Academy of Science and Technology Outstanding Book Award in 2022.
The Philippine Journal of Development (PJD) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published biannually by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS). It serves as a platform for disseminating policy-oriented research on development issues, including the economy, business, public administration, foreign relations, sociology, and political dynamics. The PJD is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
