Abstract
This issue presents a range of studies on macroeconomic frameworks, trade policies, financial systems, and policy interventions affecting the Philippine economy. An article on the Social Accounting Framework examines its construction method, data sources, and applications, providing insights into data reliability and consistency. Another study analyzes the European Community’s single-market plan and its potential impact on Philippine trade and investment. Financial systems are also explored, with an in-depth review of the Philippine informal credit sector. A review of agrarian reform delves into interlinked markets, credit services, and land-credit relationships, evaluating various policy interventions through welfare analysis. Lastly, a paper on defense spending and economic growth in the Philippines, originally presented at an international conference.
