Abstract

This issue presents economic analyses on small and medium enterprise (SME) development, rural labor dynamics, monetary policy, and urban housing concerns in the Philippines. One study evaluates the effectiveness of directed credit programs and a liberalized policy approach in promoting SME growth. Another article examines how differential technical change influences rural labor markets. A separate study, grounded in the work of Funke and Hall, explores the relationship between money supply and price levels. The analysis finds no causal link, attributing this to an unstable political and economic environment. Urban housing challenges are also highlighted, with a focus on Metro Manila’s high land prices and their impact on housing expenditures.
