Abstract

This issue presents a comprehensive examination of watershed management, conservation efforts, and environmental policy in the Philippines. It highlights critical challenges, technological advancements, and strategic recommendations for sustainable resource management. A study on planning tools provides insights into balancing multiple objectives in watershed management, exploring allocation mechanisms and conflict resolution strategies. Another paper reviews technologies such as watershed classification, computer modeling, and simulation, emphasizing their potential applications for improved decision-making. Conservation remains a pressing concern, with a study assessing soil and water conservation measures in upland watersheds. The issue also explores property rights in watershed management, analyzing how weak enforcement can lead to resource misuse. A study on climate variability examines the impact of extreme weather events on hydrology and water resources. An analysis of land use changes in greenhouse gas inventories highlights forestry’s role in environmental sustainability.
