Abstract
This issue features studies on household savings, fiscal decentralization, the informal economy, and e-governance, offering insights into key socioeconomic and policy challenges. One article examines the impact of family size on household savings in the Philippines, revealing a negative and regressive effect of additional children on savings capacity. Another study evaluates the Local Government Code of 1991, assessing its role in promoting both local autonomy and fiscal accountability over 15 years of implementation. The issue also highlights the significance of the informal economy in Bangladesh, exploring its determinants and governance implications in a global context. Lastly, a study on Philippine local governments assesses their adoption of e-governance through website implementation, finding limited progress in utilizing digital platforms for service delivery and public engagement. These articles provide valuable perspectives on economic and governance issues, contributing to informed policymaking and further research.
