Policy Responses to Future Population Growth in the Philippines

Abstract

This paper analyzes future population growth in terms of its contributions to growth of unwanted fertility, high desired family size and population momentum. The analysis has been undertaken to help sort out a number of issues confronting Philippine population policymakers particularly that on the role of a government-sponsored family planning program and to highlight the need for multiple approaches to moderate population growth.
